Description:Dark grains of columbite-(Fe) embedded in a brick-red quartz-rich matrix. The old Ashmead label has faint writing listing the species as Torrelite, an old mineral name identified in 1892 as columbite-(Fe). Ex. Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia collection 7184, presented by Samuel Ashmead (?-1864)
