Locality:Morristown, Morris County, New Jersey
Description:Heavy vein formation of compact magnetite crystals. The top and bottom of the specimen contacted the surrounding rock and are flat. The sides show magnetite crystals. Notable because it was from Leidy, Father of American Vertebrate Paleontology. Ex. Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia collection #1634, presented by Dr. Jos. Leidy (1823-1891)
