Locality: | Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey |
Description: | Pinkish clay mineral stevensite that formed from the alteration of pectolite crystals up to 15 mm. The radiating shape of the pectolite is still visible, often defined by shrinkage fractures. Stevensite was first described 15 miles away at Bergen Hill. Ex. Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia collection #9022, collected by Sam Gordon (1897-1952) in 1917 |
