Description: | Glass vial filled with granular gray mixture of halotrichite and melanterite, the weathering product of iron-pyrite. Note this came from a pit of the West Jersey Marl Co., the source of the first complete dinosaur fossil (hadrosaurus) in the US. Ex. Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia collection #8235, presented by Henry Carvill Lewis (1853-1888) |
