Description: | Large specimen of lustrous black andradite garnet (variety melanite) crystals scattered over one face of matrix. The garnet crystals grew in a thin vein and a few crystals grew so large that they contacted the opposite vein wall. Excellent specimen. Ex. Jim Minette (1936-2002) |
