Locality:Stirling Brook, Watchung, Somerset County, New Jersey
Description:Translucent red to amber-colored translucent carnelian variety of quartz with botryoidal surfaces on the top face. This specimen is very thick, making it desirable for lapidary use. These alluvial specimens were once common, are now hard to find.
