Locality:Leonardsville, Butte Mining District, Summit Valley, Silver Bow County, Kansas
Description:Brown quartz pseudomorph after a hoppered crystal (depressed center faces) of cubic halite 3 cm across. Two faces are complete. It appears the halite was frozen in mud, then dissolved leaving a cavity that was filled by quartz.
