Description: | A complete octahedral spinel crystal that naturally weathered from marble matrix. The spinel crystal has faces composed of smaller, parallel octahedrons. Fitton collected the specimen at the old site where they found 10 inch spinel crystals in 1820. Ex. R. Fitton collection #3008, personally collected Sept. 26, 1971 |
