Locality: | Maripi deposit, Vasquez-Yacopi District, Colombia |
Description: | Flat plate of tan-colored quartz + pyrite matrix with many transparent emerald crystals, the green gem variety of the mineral species beryl. The emerald crystals are in two areas and I am tempted to split the specimen in two. Has great color and luster. Ex. Murchison, collected ca. 1950 |
