Locality:Polveros Mine, Vasquez-Yacopi District, Colombia
Description:Large single crystal of deep green emerald, the green gem variety of the mineral species beryl, in gray calcite matrix. This is the largest emerald crystal I was able to obtain in 2008. The specimen stands upright nicely without additional support.
