Description: | Gemmy crystal of highly transparent purple amethyst quartz on milky quartz. The internal clarity makes this quite attractive. The crystal faces have several unusual indentations that look conchoidal but are in fact naturally crystallized. Ex. Frech collection #1612. Collected ca. 1975. This quartz outcrop was completely excavated by open pit mining ca. 1983 |
