Locality: | Virginia Lime and Marble Quarry, 1 mile south of Mountville, Loudoun County, Virginia |
Description: | Sparkling brown grossular garnet crystals on green matrix with small green-black platy clinochlore crystals. The minerals were probably protected by calcite pocket filling, that was dissolved away. Looks beautiful under magnification. Ex. Ned Blandford, originally collected in 1950 |
