Mineral:Quartz var. Polyhedral Agate Geode
Locality:Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil
Description:Rectilinear banded quartz geode with hollow center. The polyhedral shape is due to the quartz geode forming in a cavity confined by flat outer crystals, possibly calcite, that eventually dissolved away. Some zones fluoresce green under UV illumination. Ex. Robert C. Lambert (1919-2008)
