Description: | Large watermelon tourmaline crystal, a bi-colored variety of elbaite, with flat pinacoid termination. The outer zone is transparent green with a translucent pink core, resembling a watermelon. The surfaces have scattered contacts with minor pocket clay. Ex. Robert C. Lambert (1919-2008) #59; acquired in 1985 |
