Description: | Elongated brown uvite tourmaline crystals to 35 mm long with a translucent colorless calcite crystal 30 mm long. The rear of the specimen has a plaster-of-Paris base attached for display. The uvite tourmaline fluoresces yellow under UV illumination. Ex. Henry D. Miller (1838-1919 or 1920) collection, bequeathed to the Wadsworth Atheneum in 1909; ex. Loomis-Chaffee School |
