Description: | Chlorite-magnetite-amphibole pseudomorph after a dodecahedral 30 mm almandine garnet crystal. The surface of the pseudomorph shows faint brush marks from when it was first cleaned. This is the finest specimen I have seen of this prolific formation. Ex. Henry D. Miller (1838-1919 or 1920) collection, (see Final Disposition Of Some American Collections Of Minerals, Frederick A. Canfield, 1923), bequeathed to the Wadsworth Atheneum in 1909; ex. Loomis-Chaffee School |
