Description: | Lustrous translucent demantoid garnet crystals, the green variety of andradite, in tan-colored matrix. Many crystals are complete, but others are incomplete. Remnants of metallic magnetite are visible on the underside. Ex. Henry D. Miller (1838-1919 or 1920) collection, (see Final Disposition Of Some American Collections Of Minerals, Frederick A. Canfield, 1923), bequeathed to the Wadsworth Atheneum in 1909; ex. Loomis-Chaffee School |
