Description: | Sharp white chisel-shaped barite crystals up to 4 mm long, overgrown on scalenohedral calcite crystals to 30 mm long. The barite crystals fluoresce bright white under UV illumination. Ex. Henry D. Miller (1838-1919 or 1920) collection, (see Final Disposition Of Some American Collections Of Minerals, Frederick A. Canfield, 1923), bequeathed to the Wadsworth Atheneum in 1909; ex. Loomis-Chaffee School |
