Description: | Transparent colorless bladed barite crystals with chisel-shaped terminations. The barite crystals are large and well crystallized for this old locality that closed in 1871 (most specimens from this mine were opaque white). Ex. Henry D. Miller (1838-1919 or 1920) collection, bequeathed to the Wadsworth Atheneum in 1909; ex. Loomis-Chaffee School |
