Mineral:Limonite pseudomorphs after Pyrite on Quartz
Locality:Boscobel, Grant County, Wisconsin
Description:Well defined brown limonite pseudomorphs after pyritohedral pyrite crystals up to 8 mm across sparkling translucent brown quartz crystals to 1 mm. The pyrite crystals formed first, then altered to limonite, but keeping the original pyrite shape.
