Locality:Longido, Arusha, Tanzania
Description:Hexagonal ruby crystal, the red-pink gem variety of the mineral species corundum, in green zoisite matrix. The ruby crystal runs completely through the matrix. Note this is not a thin specimen, but is quite thick and could be sawn into many thin slabs.
