Locality:Amity, Orange County, New York
Description:Octahedral purplish-black spinel crystals to 21 mm acid-etched from colorless calcite matrix with crude opaque brown chondrodite crystals and translucent brown phlogopite crystals. The acid etching left strange patterns in the calcite.
Overall Size:6.5x4x3 cm
