Mineral:Quartz var. Herkimer Diamond scepter-shaped crystals
Locality:Treasure Mountain Mine, Little Falls, Herkimer County, New York
Description:Scepter-shaped formation of black quartz stem 5 mm long and 4 mm thick with a cap of clear quartz, variety Herkimer Diamond, 11 mm long by 8 mm thick. The black stem can be clearly seen extending into the clear cap. See Rocks and Minerals v.75 #4.
