Description: | Hollow epimorphs of bright blue azurite and green malachite after prismatic gypsum crystals to 25 mm long. The gypsum crystallized first, then was overgrown with azurite, finally the gypsum dissolved leaving the azurite with the original shape of gypsum. Ex. Robert P. Bates (1926-2008) collection #157; originally acquired in 1986 |
