Locality:Millington Quarry, Bernards Township, Somerset County, New Jersey
Description:Translucent purple-gray amethyst quartz crystals over gray basalt with waxy surface luster on the termination faces of the amethyst quartz. This is the best amethyst I have seen from the Millington Quarry which is now closed and being reclaimed. Collected by Martin Becker, author of Recent Mineral Finds at the Millington Quarry in Rocks and Minerals v.73 #5
