Description: | Many elongated blue-white andalusite crystals exposed on the surfaces of Mariposa slate. When polished the andalusite crystals reveal cruciform zoning and is known by the obsolete name Chiastolite. Ex. Peter B. Nalle (1923-2010) collection #342; collected by Nalle in spring of 1947 |
