Description: | Radiating sunburst-formations of dark tourmaline crystals embedded in quartz. The tourmalines appear black, but are actually transparent brown when viewed under magnification leading to the elbaite or schorl identification. Ex. Peter B. Nalle (1923-2010) collection, employed at Crestmore 1951-1969, rising to managing director of Riverside Cement Co. |
