Description: | Patches of red cinnabar in quartz-rich matrix. The cinnabar has been silicified, an alteration to a quartz-cinnabar mixture that is harder than cinnabar. Ex. Peter B. Nalle (1923-2010) collection #114; collected when Nalle worked at mine in 1942 |
