Description: | Translucent quartz pseudomorphs after blocky anhydrite crystals to 55 mm. The quartz varies from gray to purple amethyst. The anhydrite formed first, then was overgrown by quartz, finally the anhydrite dissolved away. Ex. John Geiges collection #866; acquired in 2003, ex. Bob Drift #Z101 |
