Locality:Slieve Binian, Mourne Mountains, County Down, Northern Ireland
Description:Lustrous transparent dark-smoky quartz crystals in a shallow cavity in gray perthite. The smoky quartz crystals have unusual patterns on the crystal faces that may be where another mineral was included on the surface of the quartz, then dissolved. Collected September 2009 by John Lawson (1942-2024) and Robert Lawson
