Description:Many black octahedral spinel crystals in a solution cavity within limonite-stained translucent brown forsterite. The black color is caused by iron impurities and is often labeled as ferroan spinel or pleonaste, both obsolete mineral species.

Crystals:0.5-7.0 mm
