Description: | Red-brown dodecahedral almandine garnet crystal 8 mm across in gray-brown schist with smaller almandine crystals plus prismatic staurolite crystals to 5 mm long. The almandine crystals were extracted from solid rock by sandblasting away the schist. Locality closed to collecting in 2012. Collected ca. 1992 |
