Locality: | Black Cap Mountain, upper workings, east of North Conway, Carroll County, New Hampshire |
Description: | Parallel cluster of transparent-to-translucent quartz crystals (commonly called Cathedral Habit) with color varying from purple to dark-smoky. The quartz luster varies from waxy to vitreous and there are brown limonite stains in crevices. Ex. Thomas A. Penney (1934-2019) collection, collected in the 1960s-70s. |
