Locality:Himalaya Mine, Mesa Grande District, San Diego County, California
Description:Lustrous transparent pink rubellite crystal, the pink gem variety of the tourmaline species elbaite, with flat pinacoid termination. The rubellite crystal has excellent deep-pink color and a large gem-grade area in the termination that is facet grade. Ex. Thomas A. Penney (1934-2019) collection #139, collected in the 1960s-70s.
