Description:Sparkling Herkimer Diamond crystal, the variety of transparent quartz found in the Herkimer region of New York, in a small cavity in gray dolostone. The Herkimer Diamond is surrounded by translucent calcite (rare) that usually has leached away. Ex. Thomas A. Penney (1934-2019) collection #380
