Locality: | Sterling Mine, Ogdensburg, Sterling Hill, Sussex County, New Jersey (Type Locality for Franklinite) |
Description: | Many octahedral dark gray-metallic franklinite crystals to 15 mm with tan-colored willemite crystals to 3 mm in white calcite that was dissolved to expose the franklinite. The calcite fluoresces orange and the willemite fluoresces green under SW UV. Ex Jeff Weissman collection #431; collected in 1993 |
