Locality: | Nacimiento Copper Mine, near Cuba, Sandoval County, New Mexico |
Description: | Bluish-gray chalcocite replacing organic wood in coarse sandstone. Wood was buried during erosion and compacted into sandstone, then chalcocite leached through the sandstone and precipitated in the voids created by the decomposed wood.
