Description: | Plate of lustrous transparent purple-gray amethyst quartz crystals to 11 mm over milky quartz that has epimorphic casts after rhombohedral calcite crystals on the bottom. The amethyst crystals have microscopic red-brown hematite crystals on the surfaces. Collected in January 2009 by John Lawson (1942-2024) and Robert Lawson |
