Description: | Compact mass of lustrous transparent-to-translucent red-orange garnet crystals with minor colorless quartz between the crystals. The garnet is a light color which would indicate spessartine, but testing is required to distinguish it from almandine. Ex. Thomas A. Penney (1934-2019) collection #249, collected ca. 1970 |
