Description: | Silvery muscovite mica crystal on pale albite. The muscovite crystal has spherical structure with convex outer surfaces. Local collectors commonly label this habit as Ball Mica or Ball-Peen Mica because of the resemblance to a ball-peen hammer. Ex. Thomas A. Penney (1934-2019) collection #228, collected in the 1960s-70s. |
