Locality: | Tilly Foster Iron Mine, near Brewster, Putnam County, New York |
Description: | Elongated plate of many distinct salmon-colored chondrodite crystals to 25 and rounded black magnetite crystals to 8 mm with greenish serpentine in the crevices between the crystals. A superb specimen for this famous locality that closed in 1895. Ex. Irving Horowitz collection #336, acquired in 1948 from Hugh A. Ford (1885-1966) |
