Locality:Tilly Foster Iron Mine, near Brewster, Putnam County, New York
Description:Lustrous transparent dark-green clinochlore crystals to 25 mm with orange-brown chondrodite and black-metallic magnetite. This mine, famous for unusual mineralization and pseudomorphs, had a tragic cave-in in 1895 that led to the mine closing in 1897. Ex. Irving Horowitz collection #159; ex. Curt G.
