Description: | Lustrous transparent purple amethyst quartz pseudomorphs after hexagonal calcite crystals to 45 mm, The calcite crystallized first, then was overgrown by amethyst crystals. When the calcite dissolved it left hollow pseudomorphs (epimorphs) of amethyst. |
