Locality: | Sierra de Cruces, east of Laguna de Jaco, near Hercules, Coahuila, Mexico |
Description: | Unusually large single crystal of grossular garnet. The garnet crystal is translucent beige, dodecahedral form, and shows a black core crystal on the underside where it was attached. This specimen is remarkable for the size — I have never seen larger. Ex. Thomas A. Penney (1934-2019) collection #235. Repaired |
