Mineral:Quartz var. Smoky Quartz with 10 carat faceted gemstone
Locality:Moat Mountain, west of North Conway, Carroll County, New Hampshire
Description:Lustrous dark smoky quartz crystal, with suture patterns on the prism faces indicating twinning following the Dauphiné Law of quartz twinning, plus a 10 carat 17x13 mm faceted smoky quartz gemstone. The smoky quartz crystal is nearly flawless internally. Ex. Thomas A. Penney (1934-2019) collection, collected in the 1960s-70s.
