Description: | Unusual elongated crystal of almandine garnet with no matrix. The amandine garnet crystal is translucent dark red-brown, dodecahedral form elongated on one axis. The garnet crystal was extracted from solid rock and is incomplete on the rear corners. From my personal collection #733; collected ca. 1992 on MMGS field trip |
