Locality: | Pegmatite exposure along power lines, west of Cathance Road, Topsham District, Sagadahoc County, Maine |
Description: | Large brown trapezohedral almandine garnet crystals in limonite-stained white albite. The almandine garnet crystals have altered crystal faces probably caused by exposure to ground water that liberated the iron-oxides that coated the faces. From my personal collection; collected ca. 1985 |
