Description: | Cluster of many lustrous transparent-to-translucent smoky quartz crystals with color that varies from smoky-gray to purple amethyst. The surfaces of the smoky-amethyst crystals have partial overgrowth of brown microcrystals, possibly goethite. Ex. Thomas A. Penney (1934-2019) collection, collected in the 1960s-70s |
