Mineral:Calcite with Marcasite inclusions on Quartz
Locality:Eastern Rock Products Quarry (Benchmark Quarry), St. Johnsville, Montgomery County, New York
Description:Transparent yellow-brown 32 mm calcite crystal included with filiform marcasite crystals to 4 mm, with lustrous transparent colorless quartz crystals to 30 mm. The calcite crystal contacted the matrix on the bottom and cleaved cleanly. From my personal collection; collected in 1994. See: Marcasite Inclusions in Calcite from St. Johnsville, NY.
