Mineral:Dravite-Schorl Tourmaline
Locality:Tourmaline Prospect 100 m. west of Biermann Quarry, Bethel, Fairfield County, Connecticut
Description:Two intersecting lustrous black tourmaline crystals with fragments of muscovite mica on the surfaces. The tourmaline crystals are found by digging in decomposed muscovite at a weathered outcrop. They usually are extracted in sections. From my personal collection #489; collected in 1993
